More About Vatican City
Located in the Italian city of Rome, the Vatican City is a religious and cultural roman-catholic center. Full of museums, sculptures and paintings, it is a dream to visit, whether you are religious or not. It’s advised to pace yourself and take your time to enjoy all the history stored in this city. Best to wear comfortable shoes (flip flops are considered to be too casual) and to plan out your visit in order to capture sites such as The Spiral Staircase (shaped like DNA), Raphael’s Transfiguration painting, The Tapestries Hall (which leads to the Sistene Chapel) and the Pine Cone Courtyard.
Every Wednesday when The Pope is in the Vatican, visitors have the chance to see The Pope and receive his blessing. The Papal Audience as it is know, consists of a few reading and teachings by the Pope in Italian (sometimes English and other languages) before a joint prayer is held in Latin. It is held in St Peter’s Basilica which is closed for tours on that day.
I may have to return to the Vatican as I do not seem to have images of the Vatican to upload.
